Begin Your Nursing Journey in Canada, and Build Toward a Career in the United States

We offer a unique, fully supported pathway for Filipino nurses to build careers in North America.

We sponsor your temporary work visa in Canada and permanent residency in the United States, handling every step of the credentialing, immigration, and placement process so you can focus on your future.

Step 1: Preparing to Migrate

Basic Requirements

  • BS in Nursing from an accredited university

  • Active nursing license

  • Passing score on NCLEX-RN

  • IELTS score of 7.5 in listening and 7 in all other sections (can be completed after applying)

Job Placement

We will schedule a virtual interview with one of our partner facilities across Canada.

We will try to place you with your friends, so encourage them to apply too!

Visa Application

  • We will apply for your temporary Canadian visa for you, which takes 3-6 months for approval

  • Once your visa is granted, we will book your flight!

  • All visa and travel costs are covered for you, but you are financially responsible for your spouse or children accompanying you (we can finance these costs for you)

  • Your spouse is eligible for a work permit too, but please tell us about your situation so we can manage their process too

Step 2: Your Assignment in Canada

Visa & Residency

  • Visa approval in approximately 3–5 months

  • Valid for 2 years and extendable to 4 years

  • After 1 year, we sponsor your Canadian permanent residency

  • If you become a Canadian citizen before your U.S. visa is approved, we can transfer you instantly into the U.S.

Job Placement

U.S. Job Placement

FAQs

What kind of support can I expect from you?

You’ll have a dedicated TrueNorth team member for check-ins and guidance throughout your journey and your assignments. We will support you every step of the way!

Do I have to continue on to the United States?

No. If you prefer to remain in Canada, we can convert your U.S. contract into a Canadian one. You’ll be responsible for any U.S. visa costs we’ve already paid.

What happens if I don’t like my job?

We encourage you to work through challenges with your assigned employer first. But if there’s a serious issue, we have contractual protections and will step in to support or reassign you.

What if my U.S. visa is denied or delayed?

We will sponsor you for Canadian permanent residence so that you are on a path to citizenship if there are problems with USCIS. Most qualified applicants are ultimately successful in applying for U.S. visas, but timing can be unpredictable. It is much easier for Canadian citizens to live and work in the U.S. than it is for Filipinos.
